Breaking: Senate Trump-Russia Probe Has No Full-Time Staff, No Key Witnesses

The Daily Beast reported on Monday that the U.S. Senate probe into allegations of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia is nothing more than smoke and mirrors. There are no full-time staff, no key witnesses, and the investigation is clearly going no where.

Naturally, this should shock and disgust those on both sides of the aisle interested in a free and fair investigation into the most egregiously public act of election interference by a foreign power in U.S. history.

Read the damning excerpt below from the Daily Beast:

“The investigation does not have a single staffer dedicated to it full-time, and those staff members working on it part-time do not have significant investigative experience. The probe currently appears to be moving at a pace slower than prior Senate Intelligence Committee investigations, such as the CIA torture inquiry, which took years to accomplish.”

Of course Republicans are trying to deter, retard, and prevent any progress related to this investigation given the fact that the political fallout will likely bury the GOP beneath a mushroom cloud of suspicion and distrust for decades.

It’s high time that Congress appoints a special prosector to lead an independent inquiry into Trump’s ties to Russia, an increasingly popular idea that a majority of Americans support.
