Boom! Alex Baldwin is back on Saturday Night Live (SNL) and delivered yet another stellar performance as ‘The Mad King’ Donald J. Trump.
Naturally, no SNL sketch involving the Trump White House would be complete without an appearance from the spawn of Satan himself, Steve Bannon, and the recurring theme of Bannon as the Grim Reaper.
The plot of the sketch revolves around the idea that Ivanka and Jared Kushner have a ‘calming’ influence over Trump; however, as both are Orthodox Jews who observe The Sabbath by avoiding technology and all work from sundown on Friday to sundown on Saturday, Bannon has one full day per week to wreak havoc with an unsupervised Trump and Press a warped white nationalist agenda.
The writers and cast of SNL offered a nod to the widely held belief that Bannon, not Trump, is actually in charge.
Most of the sketch involves Bannon pressing Trump to dial world leaders and longtime allies in an erratic, childish display that reflects the tone of the transcripts from Trump’s widely reported blunders this week.
The sketch ultimately concludes with Trump offering Bannon his desk, in a not so subtle jab at the dichotomy and in workings of their bizarre relationship.
