Rand Paul came out swinging yesterday in an interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer saying that Trump’s popularity is due to a temporary “Loss of sanity” among GOP voters. We happen to partially agree, ironically, with Senator Paul; however, we disagree with his use of the adjective ‘temporary’.
To say that Trump’s charismatic appeal to the Tea Party masses is due to a “Loss of sanity” is to imply that there were sane in the first place. This is the party that believes that Obama destroyed the economy, banned guns, planned to invade Texas and put Republicans in FEMA camps.
Sorry Rand, YOUR party isn’t suffering from anything temporary these days. Aren’t you supposed to be the doctor here? How about a more realistic diagnosis: permanent insanity.
